Where To Stay, Where To Play, What To Eat, & Who To Meet; On Entertainment Gay Television, It’s All Here!
EGTV is building awareness, promoting tourism, and generating revenue for locally owned businesses by providing visually the service and experiences they have to offer to the LGBT Community.
San Francisco, CA (SC) July 2008 – Entertainment Gay Television, a show that is currently in production, is a 1-hour program designed to inspire, inform, and educate the LGBT Community to help stimulate local economy. Each episode will showcase the richness of cultural diversity through exotic locales, community events, fashion, travel, lifestyle and venues.
Shane Charles will first showcase to viewers The Bar, better known as the B.O.C. to locals, located in the heart of Castro Street. Viewers are then provided a first hand look at experiencing a night at The Bar from following Shane Charles through the venue to a fabulous photo shoot with San Franciscan Drag Queen, Juanita Moore!
EGTV will then take viewers away from the city to attend an annual LGBT festival, Gay Day at Great America. Shane Charles, with pal and co-host Sean Grady, will provide the park’s experience to viewers by riding attractions like Flight Deck and watching performances by the Trannyshack Drag Queens, Bebe SweetBriar, and Kelly Rowland.
Shane Charles will then finish the show with Pan Dulce, a weekly Latino event held at The Café near Castro and Market every Thursday evening. Included in this segment Shane Charles interviews Pan Dulce promoter and Club Papi founder, Jaime Awad, and Granda Entertainment owner/founder, Joe Granda, who will discuss the work they have done for the Latino LGBT Community and the celebrity collaborations they have created. EGTV will then end with Shane Charles enjoying the night with the club patrons of Pan Dulce!
With help from the Karpel Group of New York, EGTV will also showcase between segments music videos by recording artists: Win Marcinak, James Blunt, and Madonna. EGTV also distributed 1000 DVDS to consumers, potential sponsors, and distributors for consideration and has received positive responses. The new production will have more of a nationwide feel and will showcase major metropolitan cities throughout the United States.
Entertainment Gay Television is the creation of Marcelo Acevedo who has more than 15 years of advertising and marketing experience from some of the most acclaimed production companies in the country. Currently producing FUEL THE GROOVE, a DVD product shown in 450 Gay & Lesbian venues nationwide, Marcelo is developing new TV concepts that will cater to different demographics and audiences worldwide.
Host, Shane Charles, currently wrapped Gus Van Sant’s film, “Milk”, featuring Sean Penn as a Core Castro, is seen protesting throughout the film. Shane Charles has also worked on other feature films such as, “Four Christmases” and “Ole”. He is the spokesperson/model of GDM Boutique in San Francisco. He will soon be featured in a PSA for the Stop Aids Project and will also be an advocate for HERE! Network during Pride San Francisco 2008.
